Nicki Minaj’s highly anticipated performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live was abruptly postponed last Saturday due to her unexpected arrest in the Netherlands. The rapper and singer, known for hits like Starships, Super Bass, and Anaconda, was detained at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, forcing the last-minute cancellation of her show for thousands of fans.
Minaj announced the rescheduled Manchester concert date via X, stating, “OK guys, I was JUST RE-ADVISED that we actually CAN NOT do any other date for the make up #gagcityMANCHESTER date besides JUNE 3rd.” She apologized for the inconvenience and expressed hope that ticket holders could attend the new date.
The 41-year-old artist spent approximately six hours in custody before she could fly to the UK. She livestreamed her arrest and denied ownership of the drugs found in her luggage. Despite the sudden postponement, Minaj praised her fans for their understanding and even invited them to her hotel in Manchester.
Dutch police confirmed the arrest of a 41-year-old woman for attempting to transport “soft drugs” from Schiphol Airport to another country. The woman was released after paying a fine.
As part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, Minaj performed in Birmingham on Sunday and has upcoming concerts in London, Glasgow, and Manchester.
