Tinubu's Adviser: God May Not Have Destined Atiku for Presidency

Tinubu Aide Says Atiku May Not Be Destined for Nigerian Presidency

Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, believes his former boss Atiku Abubakar may never become Nigeria’s president. Bwala suggested divine intervention might explain Atiku’s repeated electoral failures.

The presidential aide argued that 2023 represented Atiku’s best opportunity to capture the presidency. Despite multiple attempts spanning decades, the former Vice President has consistently fallen short of his ultimate political goal.

“Atiku has done everything humanly possible to emerge as President of Nigeria, but has failed in all his attempts,” Bwala reportedly stated. The adviser’s comments highlight the dramatic shift in political loyalties, as he previously served under Atiku before joining Tinubu’s administration.

Bwala’s remarks reflect the complex dynamics within Nigeria’s political landscape. His transition from Atiku’s camp to Tinubu’s inner circle demonstrates the fluid nature of political allegiances in the country’s democracy.

The 2023 presidential election marked Atiku’s sixth attempt at securing Nigeria’s highest office. The Peoples Democratic Party candidate finished second behind Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, continuing his streak of unsuccessful presidential bids.

Atiku’s political journey spans over three decades, including his tenure as Vice President under Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007. His persistent pursuit of the presidency has made him one of Nigeria’s most recognizable political figures, though ultimate success has remained elusive.
