The Battlestar Galactica Villain Everyone Completely Misunderstands

The Battlestar Galactica Villain Everyone Completely Misunderstands

By Chris Snellgrove | Published 30 seconds ago While the Battlestar Galactica remake is filled with great bad guys, the most compelling villain isn’t some Cylon infiltrator or tin-plated soldier. Arguably, the best villain is Tom Zarek, someone who rises from political prisoner to Vice President before leading a mutiny and ultimately getting killed. Fans have generally imagined him as someone who hates his frequent onscreen sparring partner Laura Roslin, but when discussing a plot that begins with the Season 2 episode “Fragged,” Zarek actor Richard Hatch verified that “even though Zarek’s highly competitive with Laura Roslin, he has tremendous respect for her.” How Tom Zarek Is Battlestar Galactica’s Best Villain For a bit of context, “Fragged” is an episode in which Commander Adama has been shot, leaving the alcoholic

Nicolas Cage Tubi Sci-Fi Thriller Exposes Government Corruption At The Highest Level

By Robert Scucci | Published 27 seconds ago The Humanity Bureau is a perfect example of how a solid idea bolstered by a strong cast can still fall flat if the screenplay has a massive identity crisis. While I can’t fault Nicolas Cage (who can?), Sarah Lind, or Jakob Davies for understanding the assignment, I can most certainly fault the assignment itself, which is a dystopian sci-fi thriller that’s sentimental and contemplative one second, but only before becoming a high-octane action outing that attempts to explore and unpack the existential crisis that’s found at its core. Though we’re talking about a single movie with a single overarching plot, each passing scene made me feel like I blacked out before coming to and finding myself watching an entirely different film on

Star Trek The Next Generation Plot Fans Hate Was Originally Even Worse

By Chris Snellgrove | Published 20 seconds ago While it’s a great episode in most respects, many Star Trek: The Next Generation fans have learned to hate the episode “Booby Trap.” That’s because of a creepy subplot in which Geordi LaForge begins falling in love with a hologram of fellow engineer Leah Brahms, and he makes things insanely weird (we’re talking incel: the final frontier) when he runs into the real woman in a later episode. However, those fans should know that it could always be worse: originally, this hated plot was going to have Picard interacting with Brahms and ultimately saving the day. Why Star Trek Almost Made Booby Trap Worse Having the lead actor participate in this cringeworthy Star Trek storyline may very well have made “Booby Trap”

Deep Space Nine Season Finale Nearly Ruined The Show

Deep Space Nine Season Finale Nearly Ruined The Show

By Chris Snellgrove | Published 29 seconds ago The Deep Space Nine Season 1 finale “In the Hands of the Prophets” inadvertently made Star Trek history by breaking with The Next Generation tradition of season-ending cliffhangers. This helped the spinoff establish its own identity, but an early idea for this episode would have ruined the finale by tying it directly to the adventures of the Enterprise-D. That’s because the DS9 producers toyed with the idea of making this finale a TNG crossover in which Picard, Sisko, and their two crews would have to fight off a Cardassian invasion. Deep Space Nine Finale Nearly Became TNG Crossover On paper, this would have given the first Deep Space Nine finale a connection to “Emissary,” the premiere episode that featured a memorable cameo
