THE Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs (MODVA) has requested constituency councillors’ offices nationwide to assist in the ongoing recruitment process for the Namibian Defence Force (NDF).
MODVA spokesperson Colonel Petrus Shilumbu addressed a letter on Wednesday to all 121 constituency councillor offices, urging them to receive and process application forms from young Namibians interested in career opportunities with the NDF, as outlined in the ministry’s advertisement.
Shilumbu said that applicants can submit their forms at any constituency office of their choice. He advised councillors to adhere strictly to the requirements listed in the advertisement and not to request candidates to present voter cards.
“A voter’s card is not part of the requirements,” said Col. Shilumbu.
In the past, some constituency councillors requested that applicants submit or at least show their voter cards before accepting their application forms. This was allegedly done to ensure that applicants were, indeed, residents of that particular constituency.
