Mombasa Blogger Denies Romantic Links to Citizen TV’s Lulu Hassan
Mombasa-based blogger MC King’ori has publicly denied claims linking him romantically to Citizen TV journalist Lulu Hassan. The controversy erupted after an old photograph showing the two together sparked widespread speculation across social media platforms.
King’ori took to Facebook to address the allegations directly, stating that fellow bloggers had misinterpreted the viral image. The blogger emphasized the need for mutual respect, using the Swahili phrase “Tuheshimiane” (let’s respect each other) to call for an end to the speculation.
The photograph, which King’ori describes as being taken in a professional context, was allegedly misconstrued by online commentators who suggested a romantic relationship between the two media personalities. The blogger vehemently refuted these claims, clarifying that no such relationship existed.
Lulu Hassan, a prominent news anchor at Citizen TV, is married to fellow journalist Rashid Abdalla. The couple frequently appears together on television and maintains a public profile as one of Kenya’s most recognized media power couples.
King’ori’s public statement aims to protect both his reputation and that of Hassan, who has not publicly commented on the controversy. The incident highlights the challenges media personalities face regarding privacy and the rapid spread of unverified information on social platforms.
The blogger’s clarification seeks to end speculation while maintaining professional relationships within Kenya’s media industry.
