ATLANTA — Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump zeroed in on the Sun Belt on Saturday as they embarked on one last weekend quest to sway every undecided voter in the battleground states. The presidential candidates pitched rival agendas on the economy — and more — that each insisted is what Americans want. “We have overcome every attack, every abuse and even two assassination attempts,” Trump said at a rally in Gastonia, North Carolina, outside Charlotte. “And now it all comes down to this.” Harris has been urging her supporters to vote early so she can be elected and provide the “new generation of leadership” that she argues she represents. “I am ready to offer that leadership as the next president of the United States of America,” she said

November 1, 2024 5 minutes read THE good old book, the Bible, states emphatically that God created all things under the sun and also those beneath the ocean. He then created man in His own image to have dominion over all the things that He has created. To be able to effectively take charge of all the possessions, the Creator offered man an extraordinary honour, worth and value, which He also possesses to enable man to duly represent Him so that every other creature would be a subject or subordinate to him (man). In this case, man, by this virtue, becomes the owner (the leader, if you like) of all creatures. Very exciting and inspiring. Since then and even after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, all

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NEW YORK — When Republican Rep. Mike Lawler walked around a trick-or-treat event at Strawtown Elementary School in West Nyack Friday, he was mobbed by people asking for selfies, ecstatic that the first term lawmaker seeking reelection in a battleground district showed up. Except none of them could vote. They were all children. But after tens of millions of dollars have been spent here on a crucial House race, the kids still surprisingly knew exactly who he was — or at least supposed to be, asking if it was really him or someone in a hyper realistic Lawler Halloween costume. That’s not to say the reaction was without value — these kids’ parents do vote, and in a tight race between Lawler and former Democratic Rep. Mondaire Jones
Voting by mail has steadily become a more popular option for Americans to cast their ballot, however, it has come under attack with baseless accusations of fraud and mistrust. And in recent days they have come under literal fire from suspected perpetrators. But despite these threats, election officials and law enforcement have worked rigorously to ensure that those ballots are not only delivered and counted on time but also free from any type of fraud. Cynthia Mamle Morrison , the Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, one of four seats recently declared vacant by the Speaker of Parliament , has complained about a supposed vote-buying scheme in her constituency. Cynthia Mamle Morrison , in an interview aired on Metro TV on Thursday, October 24, 2024, indicated that her constituents have been transferring their votes to the neighbouring Effutu Constituency. According to her, she has been told that her constituents are leaving to go and vote in Effutu because the MP for the constituency, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, who is also the leader of the NPP caucus in Parliament , has been offering them GH¢1000. The embattled legislator made these accusations while lamenting about the inadequate support her constituency receives from the government despite its size.
To read some accounts of the presidential race, voters could be forgiven for thinking Vice President Kamala Harris is in dire trouble, while former President Donald Trump is preparing for a White House return. But in reality, both campaigns are bracing for a coin flip of a race, with each side seeing both paths to victory and potential pitfalls, according to conversations with six operatives from both parties. Democrats have begun their biannual tradition of biting their nails down to the cuticles, a level of nervousness some in the party said falls short of a true reflection of Harris’ chances. And while Republicans are feeling strong that Harris’ summer surge has faded, they recognize the race is still far from settled for Trump while warning the party and its voters
Former President Donald Trump cast doubt on the election results if he loses and falsely questioned Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial and ethnic identity during an interview with the “PBD Podcast.” October 18, 2024
OMAHA, Neb. — Nebraska’s top election official had no authority to strip voting rights from people convicted of a felony, the state Supreme Court ruled Wednesday in a decision that could add hundreds of new voters to the rolls and potentially help tip the balance on Nov. 5. The order by Republican Secretary of State Bob Evnen could have kept 7,000 or more Nebraskans from voting in the upcoming election, the American Civil Liberties Union has said. Many of them reside in Nebraska’s Omaha-centered 2nd Congressional District, where both the race for president and the makeup of Congress could be in play. Nebraska overall is heavily Republican but is one of only two states — the other is Maine — that apportions its Electoral College votes by congressional district. The
President Joe Biden on Friday said he believes his administration is “breaking through with the truth” when it comes to misinformation surrounding the federal response to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Though Biden also continued his vocal criticism of former President Donald Trump, who he said was “not singularly to blame” for the proliferation of false claims in recent weeks but “has the biggest mouth.” The comments came as Biden met with Vice President Kamala Harris, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and other officials at the White House to discuss the back-to-back storms that ravaged Florida, North Carolina and other parts of Southeast. The president will travel to Florida on Sunday to visit areas impacted by Hurricane Milton, the White House announced. Biden on Friday reiterated his call for lawmakers
Republican Mike Coffman says Trump’s claims are “grossly exaggerated.” Mike Coffman, the Republican mayor of Aurora, Colorado, fired back at former President Donald Trump Tuesday before the GOP presidential candidate’s planned visit to his town over false claims about its immigrant community. Coffman issued a statement on his Facebook page criticizing the former president over his false comments that claimed, without any evidence, that crime was on the rise due to Venezuelan migrants. The incidents were limited to several apartment complexes
Vice President Kamala Harris went after Donald Trump for his false claims about FEMA in the wake of devastating storms in the Southeast during an appearance on ABC’s “The View” on Tuesday. “It’s profound and it is the height of irresponsibility and, frankly, callousness,” Harris said of Trump’s claims. “Lives are literally at stake right now.” Harris described personal stories she heard from those affected by Hurricane Helene and its aftermath after traveling to Georgia and North Carolina. “People are losing their home with no hope of ever being able to reconstruct or return, and the idea that somebody would be playing political games for the sake of himself — but this is so consistent about Donald Trump,” she said. “He puts himself before the needs of others. I fear
The brutal execution of six Israeli hostages by Hamas fighters in southern Gaza has sent shockwaves through Israel, potentially destabilizing the fragile coalition government and increasing pressure for a deal to end the 11-month war. The incident, reminiscent of the Munich massacre of 1972, has sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability. The hostages, held […]
A newly convened grand jury has issued a fresh indictment against former President Donald Trump for his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. This development follows a recent Supreme Court ruling that granted Trump limited immunity from prosecution. The superseding indictment, presented to a new grand jury unfamiliar with the case, retains […]
