Russia ‘manufactured and amplified’ video claiming election fraud in Arizona: Officials The intelligence community is yet again sounding the alarm on a Russian “manufactured and amplified” video claiming election fraud in Arizona — and warned that the activity from Russia will likely focus on battleground states. “Since our statement on Friday, the IC has been observing foreign adversaries, particularly Russia, conducting additional influence operations intended to undermine public confidence in the integrity of U.S. elections and stoke divisions among Americans,” the FBI, ODNI and CISA said in a statement Monday night. “The IC expects these activities will intensify through election day and in the coming weeks, and that foreign influence narratives will focus on swing states,” officials added in the statement. Alex Ikwechegh’s action is under probe. The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, says his colleague, Alex Ikwechegh, may suffer “double tragedy” for assaulting an e-hailing driver Stephen Abuwatseya in the nation’s capital Abuja late October. “Presently, he is being prosecuted. He is at the Magistrate Court. The House has also sent him to the disciplinary committee on the same issue,” Chinda said on the Sunday edition of Inside Sources with Laolu Akande on Channels Television. “Perhaps, he might suffer double jeopardy if he is undergoing prosecution and disciplined in the House.” Chinda said he has spoken with his colleague and he has shown remorse and apologised to Nigerians. “But in essence, I don’t think anybody will agree that that is a standard for parliamentarians. They call

Here is a look at who and what is up for a vote beyond the choice between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris. Popular Democratic Party (PDM) president McHenry Venaani has proclaimed his party as the beacon of hope for the Namibian youth and the driving force for socio-economic development. Mentioning the recent political power change in Botswana at a star rally at Walvis Bay on Saturday, he urged Namibians to not allow Swapo to enjoy a two-thirds majority and take the electorate for granted. “Youth unemployment is the biggest driver of parties losing power, because they cannot give hope to the majority of our citizens. We have been betrayed. The government’s recent failure to release updated labor statistics is a glaring example of how public trust has been eroded. The last official unemployment data we have from 2018 revealed an almost 40% unemployment rate,” he said. “Our learned estimation suggests that the
Foereign investors in different projects across Namibia have praised the country as being easy to do business in. Otjimbele project chief executive Carlos Aretxaga, speaking during a media briefing last week, said Namibia is an organised country with clear policies in place when it comes to doing business. “The policies and the legal framework are really clear: There is a rule of law and this is the first thing that is required for any investor to come and invest in a country,” said Aretxaga. “Sometimes they [investors] are scared of Africa mainly because they feel there is this uncertainty on the policy side. On the legal side, however, Namibia has a very clear legal framework, and this is actually what eases the business,” he said. However, he said there is
The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) says it is apolitical. This comes after the company’s upstream executive, Victoria Sibeya, and green hydrogen commissioner James Mnyupe were criticised for promoting national projects at a Swapo rally in Windhoek over the weekend. Sibeya referred to Swapo members as “comrades”. Namcor, however, says this choice of words was purely “conversational”, and that the company is apolitical. In a statement issued on Monday, Namcor said: “We wish to clarify that while such language may have been contextually conversational, it was not intended to indicate any political bias or alignment on the part of Namcor.” The post Namcor defends executive Sibeya’s ‘conversational’ remarks amid political backlash at Swapo rally appeared first on The Namibian.
All eyes will be on the key swing states as votes are counted in the match-up between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. Both candidates have crisscrossed the seven key swing states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — and worked to appeal to undecided voters and connect with them over the issues that resonate most with them. While voters in these battleground states share the same concerns as the rest of Americans, there are some issues that stand out as top concerns for their residents — with the economy reigning supreme as a key voter issue with just days left until Election Day. It’s the economy “The No. 1 issue is the same as it always is, which is, it’s the economy.

LONDON — The showdown between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will in many ways be a choice between foreign policy continuity and change. Harris has largely stuck to President Joe Biden’s world agenda, one in which the outgoing leader sought to revive traditional American statesmanship after four turbulent years of Trump. Biden’s time in office, though, has seen a major deterioration in global stability. The next president will come to power in the midst of two major wars — one in Europe and one in the Middle East — in which the U.S. is deeply involved. Trump is bidding for a second term with twin promises of “America first” with “peace through strength,” accusing Biden, Harris and many other leaders of facilitating global instability through weakness
