They join the Ministry of Finance led by Vice President Ndaba Gaolathe, the Ministry of Health headed by Dr Stephen Modise with Lawrence Ookeditse as deputy, and the Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education led by Nono Kgafela-Mokoka. Dr Micus Chimbombi, supported by Dr Edwin Dikoloti, heads the Ministry of Lands and Agriculture. The Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs is led by Lesego Chombo, and Dr Phenyo Butale heads the Ministry of International Relations.
The final batch of six ministers will be announced tomorrow morning.
Explaining the staggered Cabinet appointments, the President said that the swearing-in process requires ministers to sign several documents, including the Cabinet and ministerial oaths, which can be time-consuming. He noted that conducting the process in batches was a practical decision to allow time for other responsibilities and avoid spending the entire day on announcements and oath ceremonies.
