The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) will hire over 14 000 polling officials to conduct the upcoming elections. ECN spokesperson De Wet Siluka on Friday said the commission is in the process of shortlisting polling officials. “We are looking at deploying approximately 14 000 to 15 000 polling officials across the country during the voting period,” he said. Siluka said the commission has a total of 2 523 polling teams and 4 637 polling points, including mobile and permanent stations. “We have trained 121 returning officers and they are already deployed,” he said.
