Govt targeting Sh80bn GDP Boost in Blue Economy investments by 2026  DP Kindiki

NAIROBI,Kenya, Jan 7—The Government is working towards increasing the contribution of blue economy value chains to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from the current Sh37 billion to Sh80 billion annually by 2026. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, speaking during a site visit to the Shimoni Fish Port project in Kwale on Tuesday, disclosed that the government’s long-term target is to achieve a GDP boost of Sh150 billion by 2027 through investments in the blue economy sector. Treasury to disburse Sh32bn to counties by Dec 19: Kindiki

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 13 – Treasury is set to disburse an additional Sh32 billion to Counties by Thursday next week, being the amount due for November 2024. The announcement was made Thursday during the 25th Ordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) which took place at Deputy president Kithure Kindiki’s Karen residence. In a joint communique, IBEC resolved that the National Treasury prioritizes disbursement of arrears accruing to the Equalization Fund. NAIROBI,Kenya,Nov 6—Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has condoled with the family of a deceased police officer who was attached to the Harambee House Annex office. The deceased officer passed on at 42 after suffering an illness. The deceased,Jane Kagwiria, had been assigned security duties at the building which houses the office of the Deputy President.
