Casemiro’s wife, Anna Mariana, has seemingly responded to critics following the Manchester United midfielder’s underwhelming performance against Liverpool. The 32-year-old Brazilian was substituted at halftime, with academy graduate Toby Collyer taking his place after Casemiro was at fault for both of Luis Diaz’s goals in the 3-0 defeat.

A photograph later surfaced, appearing to show Casemiro leaving Old Trafford during the break, although manager Erik ten Hag refuted this claim in an interview with journalists.

Casemiro, who had an impressive debut season with Manchester United, has struggled to maintain his form, drawing heavy criticism from fans and pundits alike. His recent performance, which saw him lose possession leading to Liverpool’s opening goals, further intensified the backlash.

In response to the social media criticism aimed at her husband, Anna Mariana Casemiro shared a cryptic post on her Instagram story. The post featured a snapshot of Casemiro’s extensive trophy collection, including replicas of his five Champions League titles, three LaLiga titles, and the Copa America trophy, which she shared with her 523,000 followers.

Anna Mariana followed up with another post, this time a picture of her husband celebrating with his teammates, captioned: “Always strong Casemiro.”

While Casemiro receives unwavering support from his wife, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher expressed sympathy for the player’s current form. He’s had such a great career and won everything you can possibly win,” Carragher said on commentary for Sky Sports. “And it is a sad sight seeing what he’s going through out there.”

Explaining his decision to substitute Casemiro at halftime, Ten Hag stated, “It is what the team needed. You know when you are 2-0 down against Liverpool you have to take more risks, it will be open. When you are losing you have to take more risks. I have to give compliments to the team. You have to keep fighting and sticking together.”

When asked how Casemiro took the substitution, Ten Hag remarked, “You know the game and he knows the game. He will go on and we will go on. He’s a great player. We will continue this season to improve the team and the players.”
