Trafficked Woman Reveals 20 Daily Assaults After Katsina Hotel Rescue

Human Trafficking Syndicate Busted in Katsina as Victims Reveal Horrific Abuse

Nigerian anti-trafficking authorities have dismantled an interstate human trafficking ring that forced young women into prostitution in Katsina State. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) arrested three suspected syndicate members during a coordinated operation at a local hotel.

Rescued victims revealed the horrific scale of their exploitation to investigators. “We sleep with 20 men daily,” one trafficked woman told NAPTIP operatives, describing the brutal conditions they endured. The syndicate allegedly specialized in recruiting, harboring, and trafficking young girls from other states across Nigeria.

NAPTIP’s Katsina State Command conducted the rescue operation that freed multiple victims from forced prostitution. The agency has not yet released the exact number of women rescued or their ages. Authorities reportedly targeted the hotel after receiving intelligence about the trafficking operation.

The arrested suspects face charges related to human trafficking, forced labor, and sexual exploitation under Nigerian law. NAPTIP continues investigating the syndicate’s broader network and potential connections to other trafficking operations nationwide.

This case highlights Nigeria’s ongoing struggle against human trafficking, particularly the exploitation of vulnerable women and girls. The country serves as both a source and destination for trafficking victims, with criminal networks operating across state boundaries to evade law enforcement detection.
