Roommates, get into this V-Day update! Drake is back and blessing fans from the booth, as promised to his fans. He collaborated with fellow Canadian rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR for a new joint album called ‘$ome $sexy $songs 4 U.’ The artists aligned their new 21-track drop with Valentine’s Day.
It also comes less than a week since Drake’s rap nemesis, Kendrick Lamar, performed the diss track ‘Not Like Us’ for millions of Super Bowl viewers. Drizzy hasn’t weighed in on what’s now the most-watched halftime show, but he seemed to be throwing a lil’ shade on ‘$ome $sexy $songs 4 U.’
Drake Thanks 21 Savage For Stickin’ By Him
After Kendrick’s performance, Boosie and Marlon Wayans were two celebrities to name-drop Drizzy in their reactions. Boosie questioned the loyalty of folks Drake has put on, music-wise, in the past. Meanwhile, Wayans simply suggested that he needs to check on his boy, following Lamar doubling down on basically calling Drake an alleged minor lover.
Still on ‘$ome $sexy $songs 4 U,’ there’s one person Drake credited for holding him down and lifting him up! He shared words for his frequent collaborator in the track, ‘Gimme A Hug.’
“Savage you the only n***a checking on me when we really in some sh*t, brudda,” Drake rapped.
As for the rap beef with Kenny (or anyone else), it looks like Drake is waving the “could care less” flag! On the same track, he clarified, “They be dropping sh*t, but we be dropping harder sh**t/ F**k a rap beef, I’m tryna get the party lit.”
Drizzy Calls Out Melyssa Ford Amid Beefin’ With Joe Budden
Immediately after the 21 Savage gratitude, Drake’s lyrics flipped to calling out legendary video vixen Melyssa Ford. Ford now co-hosts Joe Budden’s self-titled podcast. Drizzy and Joe have had tensions on and off for years. In ‘Gimme A Hug,’ he dissed Drizzy by highlighting Melyssa’s working relationship with the rapper-turned-podcaster.
“Melyssa Ford, you a legend from The 6 hate to see you with a d**k sucker,” Drizzy rapped.
Melyssa and Budden haven’t responded to ‘Gimme A Hug.’ However, earlier this week, Joe Budden did share spicy words for Drizzy! At the time, he was clapping back at posts the rapper allegedly made about him on his burner IG account.
“Drake, don’t shoot at me now that you’re ice cold. I’m not doing the back-and-forth with a corpse. Don’t go get shot all through the year, and then pop up like Bernie at ‘Weekend at Bernie’s,’ wanting to shoot at me now. No n***a. Go spin. Spin the f**king block,” Budden said on his podcast.
