How Nyaboke Moraa’s father handled their school results
She also noted that their dad never used to know the results they got in school but would commend and buy them good things whenever their mum started lecturing them about school.
“My dad never used to know our marks or how much one needed to get into high school. He didn’t care. There’s a time i got 436 and they wanted more. My mum was like is this what you can get and my dad told her to keep quiet. And said they should bring me fish to eat. He used to come home drunk for rollcoll and ask what we ate and when we say ugali and sukuma he would say, “did i come to Nairobi for my kids to eat sukuma like goats” amd then wake up our mum at 1 am to cook meat.,” she said..
Nyaboke noted that their dad passed away in 2016, and her sister narrated how she used to trick him into cash in the name of buying sanitary towels daily.
“When I started my periods, I used to ask him cash for sanitary towels weekly,” she said.
