Agona Chiefs praise Bawumias policies and vision for Ghanas progress

The Acting President of the Agona Traditional Council, Nana Gyapa Ameyaw, has lauded Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his policies and commitment to advancing Ghana.

Speaking on behalf of the Council as he welcomed Dr. Bawumia to Agona in the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency on Wednesday, Nana Gyapa Ameyaw, who is also the Chief of Bepoa, expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s vision for national development.

During the address, Nana Gyapa Ameyaw noted Dr. Bawumia’s focus on development, saying, “As you have all seen, throughout his address, he only focused on issues of development and how he wants to move Ghana forward. He barely told us to vote for him. His main focus and concerns were on his development policies and how Ghana will move forward.”

The Chief commended Dr. Bawumia’s humility and progressive outlook, stating that his policies resonate with those familiar with developed countries. “Everyone admits that when it comes to humility, there is none like him. His utterances are also progressive,” Nana Gyapa Ameyaw remarked. “Anyone who has lived or visited abroad knows that what Bawumia is championing is possible.”

Nana Gyapa Ameyaw specifically praised Dr. Bawumia’s emphasis on digitalisation, highlighting its transformative impact on daily life. He shared a personal example, explaining, “For instance, my wife lives in Accra, but she teaches at Legon and internationally because of technology. She receives payments here in Ghana and from abroad, and she participates in conferences overseas, all while sitting here in Ghana.”

Concluding his remarks, the Chief stated that such real-life examples support the feasibility of Dr. Bawumia’s policies, affirming the Agona Traditional Council’s belief in his commitment to progress.

“This buttresses the point that everything Dr. Bawumia is saying is possible,” he said, voicing the Council’s admiration for the Vice President’s developmental focus.
