Thomas Rhett Went with Mom at 2021 CMAs Red Carpet 

On Wednesday, Thomas Rhett posed on the red carpet of the 2021 Country Music Association Awards with his mom Paige Lankford! His date for the 2021 CMAs. while his wife Lauren stayed home.

The country singer, 31, wore a maroon suit and black t-shirt while Lankford, 51, shined in a sparkly black dress. (Thomas Rhett last brought his mother to the award show in 2014.)

“My beautiful date tonight! MOM!! #CMAawards,” Rhett captioned a snap with his mother on Instagram.

Why his partner and wife couldn’t make it to the show?

ET’s Rachel Smith spoke with Thomas Rhett and his adoring mom on the red carpet at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and he opened up about his wife, Lauren Akins and why she couldn’t make it. who was watching from home.

“Literally, I’m just waiting on a phone call,” the country crooner said, referring to the possibility of his wife going into labor. “It literally could happen tonight, it could happen tomorrow, who knows?”

“So we’re just gonna keep going until we have to go to the hospital,” he said.

In May, the singer, and his spouse,, announced that they were expecting their fourth child, another little girl. The couple already share daughters Willa, 6, Ada, 4, and Lennon, 21 months together.

He was only nominated for only one award, the Male Vocalist of the Year, and delivered an amazing performance of his tune “Country Again,” which was met with a standing ovation. He was introduced by Luke Combs and Lady A, and the four on stage commenting how Rhett is an ideal family man and discussing how he clearly loves his wife, Lauren. But the trophy went to TKTKTK WINNER.

Earlier this year, Rhett released Country Again: Side A, part one of a double album that he wrote and recorded during the pandemic. The second half of the project, Country Again: Side B, is set to be release in late 2022.

And he recently released his new single, Slow Down Summer. Rhett announced that he will be releasing two new albums alongside his new track, with “Slow Down Summer” arriving as the first single from his upcoming record, Where We Started, which is slated to be released in early 2022.
