Reviews of the Netflix show have been released with many fans so excited about the next batch of episodes as everyone wants to know what happens with Princess Diana.
The Crown season four will stream on Netflix from Sunday (15 November).
The cast for the new season is largely unchanged. Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, Josh O’Connor and Erin Doherty all return to their roles as the main royals.
There’s a new addition, Gillian Anderson as well as fellow new cast member Emma Corrin, who’ll play Princess Diana.
From the tone of her voice to her subtle head movements, Corrin has absolutely nailed the quirks and mannerisms of the people’s princess. Audiences will get a glimpse at Diana and Charles’ very first meeting – did you know that he actually dated her older sister first? Yes, very Boleyn! – and then watch the mechanics of their courtship develop into the most talked-about engagement in the country.
Anderson’s performance is better compared to Meryl Streep’s, which won the actor an Oscar for The Iron Lady in 2012.
Margaret Thatcher is not an easy role to take on; especially the most divisive Prime Minister the country has ever had, and one whose policy and legacy hurt millions of people.
Despite all the attention-grabbing turns, The Crown 4 belongs to all its young actors: while many are excited to see how the series tackles Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor).
