Murray Against World No 2 Daniil Medvedev in Miami Open

Andy Murray starts the Miami Open by beating No 2 Daniil Medvedev. He then meets top seed Roger Federer in the second round.

Murray beat Argentina’s Juan Ignacio Chela on Thursday, but only just, to reach the semi-finals of the US Open.

Eventually, he took a 6-4 lead in the final set, and Delbonis doubled faulted.

After losing in the second round at Indian Wells last week, Murray broke immediately in the second set and coasted to victory.

Roger Federer, who had defeated Novak Djokovic and Milos Raonic earlier in the week, will face the top-seeded Russian for a place in the final.

Medvedev recently spent three weeks as the number one ranked tennis player in the world, and he’ll have to make it to the semi-finals in Miami to jump past Novak.

When Murray met Medvedev at the U.S. Open, he said, “It’s obviously a tough match.

He’s one of the world’s best tennis players.

He has what it takes to be on top. The present invention relates to a high frequency connector.

When asked about the prospect of facing Medvedev, Murray said, “Obviously a tough match.

“He’s played extremely well on the hard courts the last few seasons. He deserves to be right up there at the top of the game.

“It’ll be a big challenge for me, it’ll be a great test. I’ve got a big training block after this tournament, and it’ll be a really good test for where my game’s at and things I need to work on as well against him. So I’m looking forward to that.”

Their match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 26.

Raducanu knocked out in the second round of the US Open

Emma Raducanu has been beaten by Katerina Siniakova 3-6 6-4 7-5 in the Miami 2020 US Open.

The world number one, Serena Williams, won the first set by taking the third game of the first set, while her opponent, the Czech No. 2 Karolina Pliskova, had been knocked out of the tournament.

At the French Open, Novak Djokovic defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6, 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 to advance to the semifinals.

However, the Brit was broken and Siniakova went on to win the match.

The world No 1 was injured in the second round of the Miami Open when she slipped in some grass and twisted her left foot.

She hopes to be ready for the clay-court season.
