George Clooney Gave 14 Friends $1 M Each Cash for Supporting Him Years Back

George Clooney,59, in 2013, at the time he was 52, and single without children when he decided to gift $1 million each to thank his 14 closest friends for their support through the years. 

Clooney is a family man now. He mostly spends time with his young children and his wife, Amal Clooney, an international Human rights lawyer. He was recently named GQ’s man of the year

According to Clooney who confirmed the rumors, revealed to GQ that he invited his closest friends known as ‘The Boys’ and gave them each a suitcase containing the money. One of his closest friends Rand Gerber shared this story with the public in 2017.

“I thought, ‘what I do have are these guys who’ve all, over a period of 35 years, helped me in one way or another,'” Clooney said in an interview with GQ. “I’ve slept on their couches when I was broke. They loaned me money when I was broke. They helped me when I needed help over the years. And I’ve helped them over the years. We’re all good friends. And I thought, you know, without them I don’t have any of this. And we’re all really close, and I just thought basically if I get hit by a bus, they’re all in the will.”
