Darwin Nunez Transfer and Benfica Set Out £85m Demands

Benfica star Darwin Nunez is becoming one of the most sought-after players in European football in the transfer process.

Nunez scored 34 times in all competitions for Benfica during the last season and is currently rated at €100m (£85.5m). Manchester United are also interested in the 22-year-old striker; and the Uruguay international is one of a number of strikers Liverpool are interested in.

Liverpool, are not prepared to enter a bidding war for the striker and will not be willing to pay over the odds for the player.

However, Nunez is reportedly “fascinated” by a move to Manchester, while Fabrizio Romano claims agent ‘relations’ could help the Red Devils complete the move.

In just 41 matches, the Uruguay international hit 34 goals finishing as the Primeira Liga’s top scorer. And six of those goals came in 10 Champions League outings.

But this £85.2m tag on him is huge if any club will be willing to pay.

Transfer expert Romano has also spoken about the star’s future on the Here We Go podcast. He said Liverpool want Nunez, but the price and United’s agent ‘relations’ may help the Red devils win the race.

“He wants Premier League football, it’s important to say. Many clubs are exploring this opportunity but Darwin Nunez has priorities to move to the Premier League,” Romano said.

“Manchester United are discussing him internally, he is a target of Man United but also Liverpool. It depends on the price because Liverpool won’t pay €100m (£85.2m) for him, they want to pay way less.

Nunez at 22 years has a lot to offer any investing club that would potentially get years of top-class service. clearly has the movement and eye for goal which would make him a success in a top-five league.

While his former coaches are backing him to feature in the Premier Leagues, others are questioning how successful he will be in the English League.
