Adidas AG Picks AWS as Cloud Provider for SAP Workloads

Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. company, (NASDAQ: AMZN), announced that the sports brand adidas AG, one of the largest sports brands in the world, has selected AWS as its preferred cloud provider for SAP workloads.

With this announcement, adidas will migrate its SAP environment to AWS and implement a modern SAP S/4HANA platform. Running these business-critical SAP workloads in the cloud will enable adidas to digitize core business processes across its value chain to provide better consumer experiences, become a more data-driven business, and support new business models such as direct-to-consumer.

Adidas AG, also a shareholder in German football club Bayern München and Australian fitness technology company Runtastic. And as part of the announcement by AWS, Adidas AG SAP environments will be migrated to AWS to become a more data-driven business and enhance the direct-to-customer business model.

Running business-critical SAP workloads in the cloud would enable adidas to digitize core business processes across its value chain to provide better consumer experiences, become a more data-driven business, and support new business models such as direct-to-consumer.

Migrating and running its business-critical SAP environment to AWS cloud service would inter alia allow adidas to develop and deploy machine learning models with the help of Amazon SageMaker. Adidas could also run complex design work loads using AWS’ high performance computing capabilities. AWS’ Sustainability programs would also help adidas to reduce the environmental impact of its cloud usage.
