
Two people were killed and three others wounded during a shooting near Alabama State University on Thursday night, cops said.
Police found one man fatally wounded when they responded to the scene of gunshots in Montgomery, Alabama at about 7:15 p.m., according to Montgomery County Police.
A second man was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
Two others were seriously injured and a fifth victim suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The president of Alabama State University said that the shooting took place at a business off-campus.
“We have been assured that this shooting incident did not actually occur on campus but at a nearby business,” said Quinton T. Ross, Jr.
“University officials are still working with the Montgomery Police Department to determine the details of this incident., Our prayers are with the families and friends of those who were victims in this shooting.”
It was unclear whether there were any suspects outstanding on Friday morning.
